hi, i'm summer.
I'm a graduate student at The McCombs School of Business majoring in marketing.
My goal is to make an impact by bringing inclusivity and accessibility to technology.
I want to create space for everyone to feel they belong and give independence using technology across multi-generation.
wanna know the whole story?
From childhood, I was especially passionate about helping seniors. This was probably because of the close relationship that I had with my grandparents. I remember that I used to go to senior centers by myself with drinks and treats because I wanted to do something good for them. I was only in elementary school.
My experience as a teenager was a bit unique. Instead of going to high school, I decided to jump right into the real world. For three years, I worked at various businesses as a store manager, marketer, and customer service representative. Back then, people did not understand my decision and did not believe that I would ever succeed, particularly with the educational standards in Eastern Asia. Though I did face many challenges, I have never regretted my decision and I believe this experience made me who I am right now.
A few years later, I moved to America for more opportunity, starting with an undergraduate education at UT. Here, I studied Psychology because I always had empathy toward people and wanted to understand humans and their behavior. In my second year, I noticed users’ pain points with such fast-evolving technology. Seeing my grandparents struggle, I set my goal to help people by bringing inclusivity and accessibility to technology. I started studying UX design, but I did not want to stop there.
So here I am now. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Marketing at the McCombs School of Business. I and my goal is to make a better world for the people I love, and the people you love, through.
